Optima, Red Top or Yellow Top?
The yellow top Optima is a deep cycle battery. A deep cycle battery can be continually run down and charged back up without any harm done to the battery. A standard battery, or red top, doesn't like to be run down that much, and doing so several times can harm the battery. If you will be running things like a winch and many accessories for long periods of time with the Jeep off, the yellow top is probably something you should look at. If most of the time your Jeep will be running while running your winch and accessories, the red top is the best choice. The red top has more power, is cheaper, and has three times the warranty. For these reasons, red top is what most people should run.
