Leave the house with a sloppy U-joint, and it will blow apart on the trail, and usually at the worst possible time. Check your lug nuts, tire pressure, U-joints, steering system, and all your fluids. Give your suspension bolts and bushings a once over too. This only takes a few quick seconds to double check things, you'd much rather replace things in your driveway rather than on the trail.
